I told myself I had to write a blog post, high priority, before I could proceed with a new, different list of priorities. To help me work through big projects like updating Etsy shops that are long overdue for some love or a website that needs to reflect the work I do now, I use a white binder, my Project Notebook.

A page is dedicated to each project with lists of tasks that make up the whole, overall goal of making the shop, website, Patreon, reflect my vision for each of them. And also a few other l...

Today I am trying a new thing. I'm cashing in my first day of access to a new creative workspace that opened up downtown called Foundry. I've walked by a few times, peeked in the window. A clean, simple, efficient space that perked up my curiosity. During December I entered a giveaway on Instagram to win one of these five-day uses of the space, which seemed like a really good way to try it out without committing monetarily. While a reasonable set of prices, I don't have tons of extra money to try som...

It's been kind of a screwy week since my previous post. Struggling to sort out my projects and dealing with the lack of focus and funk. Yesterday I broke through, though.

I went out for a tasty lunch at Bellhop downtown because I needed to not be in the house any more. And I didn't like people very much. Sometimes that happens.

My French dip sandwich and salad were delicious, filling but also a bit of greenery for a balanced meal. Because: holidays.

After eating, some mental struggle and the s...

January 6, 2017

Here I am after the holidays, recovering mentally and eager to start my own projects again. The other day I was even struck with the urge to write a blog post after months of not. We've had snow days so no school and delayed starts, a longer break due to weather and snow. With the craft show preparations, I didn't have the chance or time to start working on new things or fix up other things that need changing. Life has been weird and enlightening and I'm doing better now that I know and understand so...

As of right now, I'm feeling pretty good about my recent accomplishments and excited for new projects.

Remember how a few months ago I talked about brainstorming lists for cd mixes? A couple weekends ago I camped out at my computer with stacks of cds and compiled one of those mix cds. And ripped the tracks and burned them to a blank cd and now it's like I have a new cd to listen to because I'm old school like that. Sexy Female Vocals Volume 2 opens with a dialogue exchange from the movie Yellowbeard...

May 20, 2016

Okay, blog post. Nothing really big to share this week. Mostly some progress updates, some cool books, and a friend/family arts plug. I started the week in complete zombie mode and so failed at doing anything that wasn't sitting on the couch and looking through magazines and books. It wasn't until yesterday (Wednesday) that I got back to the crud pile in the driveway. Today I did even more work: four wheelbarrow loads today and three yesterday. It's shrinking, even noticeably, but I won't get through...

Yep, it's been awhile since I've shared anything. With preparations for my International Tabletop Day party one week, recovering from con crud from my own con the next week, I had to put the blog on hold.

But! I am back! And here with an update on my activities. Since I've been up to lots of things I will have a summarized photodump towards the end of this post. It might be messy, though. If I don't I will lose interest in going into detail about anything and then there would be no point in this...

Here's a blabby video about my latest thingies. I don't know how this will look here on the blog, so if the picture quality is kinda bad, you can watch it on YouTube here.

A few other things to show:

March 21, 2016

(First written on Thursday, March 17, 2016.)

A couple days ago I came up with the idea of writing what I think about while making stuff. I always show what I'm doing but not so much what goes on in my head. And then wrote down some of those things, all eager to add more substance to my post. And I could take photos of objects or nature scenes in my yard that represented those ideas, to push myself, challenge myself, to be all deep and artistic and such. Now I'm in a better, more normal, mood. The dep...

Lots of stupid depression biting me in the brain this week. Worn out from the constant intense dreams all night, every night and have just now learned that they're anxiety dreams, annoying things that have kept up off and on, mostly on, since coming off and while being on the SSRI. I'll figure out what to do or let them run their course. I don't know.

But to combat the brain demons I chased myself out of the house for a tasty chai downtown at Tried & True Coffee. An attempt to conquer, or at lea...
